Sunday’s fencing for us at the NAC was Veteran Women’s Combined Sabre – age groups Vet 40, Vet 50, Vet 60, and Vet 70. Dede won 2, lost 4 in the pools (one of which was a 4-5), and lost in the direct elimination round of 32 to Jane Eyre, first place winner in Friday’s Vet 60 Women’s Sabre and the current Vet 60 World Champion. In a strong field Dede placed a respectable 25th.

First day of the Richmond North American Cup. Dede placed 13th on Women’s Veteran 60 Sabre, winning 2 in her pool and losing one 4-5, won her first DE handily, and lost her second DE to the eventual 2nd place. She fenced strongly, and she is steadily improving (photo is Brynildsen versus Dede, round of 32) .
