Lessons and Drills for Competitive Amateur Fencers |
The following series of individual drills have been developed to provide fencers a clear description of good technique combined with a program of exercises that can be done as individual training to develop technique, speed, and tempo. Read the descriptions of the positions and movements carefully, execute them slowly checking your posture and your movement item by item, and then follow the descriptions for the drills. Where a drill says to pause and check, you must pause and check your position and movement against the description. In this it is helpful to have either a floor length mirror or have a training partner who can provide detailed criticism.
