GUILD ACADEMY

 

Salle Green is one of the first five Guild Academies recognized by the United States Fencing Coaches Association.  This designation  is valid through 31 August 2009.

 

 

 

The United States Fencing Coaches Association is the national professional organization for coaches recognized by the Academie d'Armes Internationale, the United States Fencing Association, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association. 

 

Designation as a Guild Academy requires that the fencing club or salle meet standards that attest to the quality of coaching and adherence to ethical and educational requirements.   The following table lists the requirements for Guild Academy designation and how Salle Green meets them.

 

(1) Organization must be an established fencing salle with facilities available for fencing, operating hours, a mailing address, and other ways the public can contact the Salle Established in the current location:

(2) All individuals who teaching fencing must be members of the United States Fencing Coaches Association Walter G. Green III Professional Member - Maitre d'Armes
Joseph Iaquinto Associate Member - Assistant Moniteur
(3) Fencing instruction must be under the supervision of either a Maitre d'Armes or Prevost certified by the United States Fencing Coaches Association

(4) Individuals teaching must adhere to the Coaching Ethics Code of the United States Olympic Committee see Salle Policies
